Upcoming Lane Restriction: SE Covington-Sawyer Road east of 164th Pl SE
Beginning Thursday, June 18, 2026
On Thursday, June 18, 2026, crews working for King County Road Services will begin construction on the SE Covington-Sawyer Road Sightline Improvements Project. This project will increase visibility of oncoming traffic and allow for more stopping distance by removing the steep section of curved hillside on SE Covington-Sawyer Road, approaching 164th Place SE.
During construction, crews will occasionally reduce SE Covington–Sawyer Road to a single lane, just east of 164th Place SE, on weekdays from June 18 to August 10, 2026, between 7:30 am and 4:00 pm. Flaggers will direct two-way traffic through a single open lane. All vehicles will have access through the work zone. Please expect delays.
This work may be rescheduled or delayed due to machine, crew, or equipment availability or weather. Learn more about this project by visiting our project webpage: KingCounty.gov/Covington-Sawyer-Road
