Conservationist Greg Wingard receiving an award from King County Executive Dow Constantine for his ongoing lifetime of work dedicated to conservation efforts primarily in the South King County area. The award was presented during the celebratory event marking the completion of the Lones Levee removal project on the Green River in South King County, allowing for (hoped for) restoration of salmon habitat and migratory runs in this vitally important and sensitive ecosystem that supports a variety of salmon species as well as countless other animals.
Greg Wingard has been an invaluable resource for SCAR’s efforts at environmental advocacy and education to the general public in the South King County region, including such efforts as leading the Green River Coalition and its conservation program at Green River College.
